Great Sand Dunes National Park
Eigentlich erwartet man in Colorado keine Sanddünen und doch findet man genau hier die höchsten Dünen Nordamerikas. Auf 80 Quadratkilometern lagert sich der Sand ab und Wind sorgt dafür, dass sich die Form der Dünen täglich verändert. Leider hatten wir 2007 einen Tag mit schlechtem Wetter erwischt. Zudem war es auch noch sehr windig und wir haben uns eine Wanderung auf die Dünen erspart.
